Jonathan J. Edwards, GFS®, ChFC®, AIF®, CFBA
Principal
In his work with business and family leaders, Jay Edwards specializes in big-picture, high-level strategy. “I help clients connect where they are with where they want to go,” says Jay. “It’s about identifying the gap between the client’s present reality and their future ideal, and then creating a strategy to bridge it.”
A consummate communicator who prefers everyday language to technical jargon, Jay is quick to emphasize the human element of his work. “Money and numbers are vital tools,” he explains, “but my work is ultimately about clients’ ambitions, dreams, passions, and emotions.”
Having worked in private financial management since 1988, Jay focuses on helping multigenerational family businesses, as well as individuals, maintain wealth and build legacies. He has a knack for quickly grasping complex issues within family business systems and building consensus among family stakeholders. “These things can be keys to lasting family wealth,” he explains.
Jay earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University and holds many industry accreditations. He’s an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, a Global Financial Steward®, a Chartered Financial Consultant®, and a Chartered Life Underwriter®. He also holds a certificate in family business advising from the Family Firm Institute.
Over the years, Jay has donated his time and expertise to organizations that include New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Old Man of the Mountain Legacy Foundation, Bedford Athletic Club, Earth Limited, New Hampshire Audubon Society, and Monadnock International Film Festival.
An outdoor enthusiast, he lives in Bedford, New Hampshire, and enjoys flyfishing, hiking, skiing, motocross, and spending time with his family and dogs.
